Ski Technique
Ski Technique has the honour of being the first ever British Ski School in Megeve, France – a hidden gem that certainly isn’t your typical ski resort.
It was founded by Glen and Jarrod, two friends with a passion for skiing, snow, sun, and a refreshing beer after a day on the slopes! Both hold Level 4 International Ski Diplomas, and are fully qualified ski instructors in Megeve, and qualified to teach private ski lessons in Megeve France.
If you are looking for a fun, informal, and altogether more personable approach to experiencing life on the snow in the company of highly qualified British ski instructors, Ski Technique is where you need to be.
We’re excited to hear from you, learn more about you, and can’t wait to hit the slopes together and draw some beautiful lines on the snow in Megeve!
Jarrod and Glen met in New Zealand in 2001 during a Ski Racing adventure. They discovered that they both started skiing at the age of 3, cementing their friendship out on the slopes, even though they come from very different backgrounds.
Both instructors worked for some of the best ski schools in the French Alps before setting up Ski Technique in 2008. Their aim was to combine their advanced level ski instructor experience with an intimate knowledge of this beautiful part of France to deliver a ski school experience that is fun, rewarding, and high on adventure!
Jarrod is passionate about skiing – enthusiasm which comes across in his teaching style – and patient, essential for clients in the early stages of honing their skills on the snow. He started skiing in the ski resort of Villars, Switzerland, enjoying regular family skiing holidays throughout his teenage years. He began as a ski instructor in Megeve in 1987, then took some time out to complete his further education before he returned to ski teaching in 1996, and has worked in France and Italy ever since.
Jarrod is trained to develop people’s skiing in a fun and safe environment whilst tailoring the lessons to the client’s optimum learning style and ability. English as a first language means British clients can expect more precise instructions on technique, optimising their learning experience.Â
Glen’s technical expertise on the slopes comes from a racing background – technical knowledge which he adeptly, and patiently, imparts to clients. He is a former member of the National Ski Team of Wales, and raced on the FIS circuit from 2001 to 2002. He has skied throughout Europe and also in New Zealand where he was a member of the Wanaka Ski Academy for 3 years running, and has been involved with some of the most successful ski schools in the Alps.
Glen has a personal training background that enables him to help clients achieve their skiing goals in an exhilarating yet safe environment. Again, with English as a first language, British clients can expect precise instructions on technique, fast-tracking their learning experience.
